IT IS JUST AT GROTTAMMARE WHICH I S SITUATED “LA TORRETTA SUL BORGO” B&B, RESIDENCE OF CHARM, HANGING IN TIME.
It is a place recommended to those who love historical villages remained, like in the past, without noises and traffic with the light of the sea which filters through the old shutters. It is pleasant to get lost among the alleys of the village or overlook over the sea from the balconies such as the striking Largo Il Tarpato which is near “La torretta sul borgo”.You can reach it just after Piazza Peretti, a famous tourist destination, where there is also the Teatro dell’Arancio, while from the beneath Loggias a wonderful view over the sea bursts open. In July and August at the Old Village two important musical performances take place: “Musica dal cielo” organ festival and Liszt Festival. We can give hospitality to you all the year and take you to innumerable trips in spring, summer and autumn by means of transport you prefer: on foot, by horse, by bicycle; do you like mountaineering skiing? In winter we offer you an unblemished place, but twenty minutes faraway there are also the traditional ski runs. Do you prefer hang gliding? The plateau of Castelluccio di Norcia, magic and famous place, is thirty minutes faraway.We organise trips on mountain pastures or take you by off-road vehicles (but only up to where there are the mule tracks…).

PERIOD RESIDENCE

Stefano Marconi, the owner, renovated the historical building in the full respect of its architectural characteristics (arcades, stones at sight, original terracotta flooring, ceilings with wood rafters and truss-beam roofs). There is a staircase made of original travertine of Ascoli Piceno while in the tavern with the cross vaults, used for breakfast, there is a fireplace framed by a portal of the Sixteenth century which once was the entrance of the old mill. The home expands on more floors connected by particularly large and charming staircase with a banister made of wrought iron, which attracts at once the attention of the guest. It’s a leap into the past with all the comforts of the present.
QUALITY OF THE MATERIALS AND CARE OF THE DETAILS ARE A PROOF OF THE GREAT ATTENTION TOWARDS THE GUEST.

“LA TORRETTA SUL BORGO ” IS PARTICULARY SUITABLE:

•for those who’d like to visit churches, the museum of “Pericle Fazzini” and to attend the different cultural events which periodically take place.
• for those who are interested in oeno-gastronomic itineraries.
• You can reach the beach through the “Scalinata degli Innamorati”.
We serve breakfast, consisting of cakes (home made tarts and ring-shaped cakes), cold meats and salami and typical cheeses, in the tavern with bar corner and, when the weather is nice, on the small tower with view over the sea and the Maiella Mountains, a splendid place from which takes the name the B&B.
